Living with the light

Southern California light is beautiful, but it still asks a room to make choices.

Living with the light Temporary placeholder · Will be replaced with real project photography as soon as possible

Afternoon sun can flatten a pale room or turn a dark surface luminous. The difference is not simply color. It is where the light lands and what the material does with it.

We look for surfaces that change without becoming theatrical. Plaster reveals the hand behind it. Linen softens a hard edge. Walnut deepens as the day moves toward evening.

A room feels steadier when it does not depend on one perfect hour. It should remain useful at noon and welcoming after the light leaves.
